A $1.3 million bridge which will improve access to the Upper Brisbane Valley will be officially opened at Linville on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The Harry Carey Bridge on Mt Stanley Road has been funded by the Somerset Regional Council and $610,943 from Round 2 of the National Stronger Regions Fund.<\/p>\n

The two-lane concrete bridge has replaced a single-lane timber bridge and will support commercial loads.<\/p>\n

The structure will also improve heavy vehicle access for the beef cattle industry in the Upper Brisbane Valley.<\/p>\n

Up to 42,000 vehicles a year are expected to use the bridge.<\/p>\n

The bridge will be officially opened by Member for Fisher Andrew Wallace and Somerset Mayor Graeme Lehmann.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
