More than 100 mini Pink Ladies will take shape in the Kingaroy Town Hall Forecourt next week to make a statement about the impact of breast cancer in the local community.<\/p>\n

The Pink Lady silhouettes will go on display from 9:30am next Tuesday (October 17) as a tribute to all the women and families affected by breast cancer.<\/p>\n

McGrath Breast Care Nurse for the South Burnett, Ros Melmeth, said every day 43 Australian women learn they have breast cancer and seven will lose their lives to the disease.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s important to recognise the impact of breast cancer on not only the woman diagnosed but all those around her,” Ros said.<\/p>\n

\u201cEach time a woman hears she has breast cancer, those around her in the community are also affected.<\/p>\n

“Support for women diagnosed, as well as their families and loved ones is an important issue in our local community.\u201d<\/p>\n

Breast Cancer Network Australia\u2019s “Mini-Field of Women” events provide an opportunity for the public come together to pay tribute to all those affected by breast cancer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

BCNA CEO Christine Nolan said the event was a powerful way to remind those diagnosed that they were not alone in their breast cancer journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year over 300 Mini-Field of Women events are being held in local communities right across Australia. These events are a great way to link those people affected by breast cancer with their local community to help them feel supported,\u201d Christine said.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett’s “Birds of a Feather” cancer support group has encouraged the South Burnett community to take part in the Kingaroy event to show support for the thousands of Australian women and families affected by the disease.<\/p>\n
