October 6, 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

A 66-year-old woman has been flown to hospital suffering serious leg injuries and lacerations after spending more than a hour trapped inside her wrecked 4WD on the D’Aguilar Highway near Moore.<\/p>\n

The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter landed on the highway, about 15km north of Moore, to assist the woman.<\/p>\n

A LifeFlight spokesperson said the woman had apparently lost control, veered off the road\u00a0and hit a tree.<\/p>\n

She was trapped in the vehicle for an hour while the QFES and police worked together to cut her free from the wreckage.<\/p>\n

Once pulled from the vehicle, she was treated by LifeFlight’s critical care doctor and ambulance paramedics for lower leg injuries and severe\u00a0cuts.<\/p>\n

She was taken to the Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.<\/p>\n

Earlier at 3:30pm:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Police have advised that a serious single-vehicle crash on the Blackbutt Range has temporarily closed the D’Aguilar Highway at the foot of the Blackbutt Range.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Emergency services were despatched to the scene about 1:45pm.<\/p>\n

At 2:45pm, fire crews were working to free a woman who remained trapped in the wrecked vehicle.<\/p>\n

The vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest on its side against a tree.<\/p>\n

The incident is about three kilometres from the bottom of the range on the flat stretch of highway heading towards Moore.<\/p>\n
