Member for Wide Bay Warren Truss<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Seven volunteers at the Goomeri State Emergency Service have been presented with Certificates of Appreciation by Member for Wide Bay Warren Truss.<\/p>\n

\u201cGoomeri SES volunteers have helped the community both in times of emergency and recovery. They help to evacuate people to safe areas when threatened by floods and storms, and then assist in the clean up and recovery efforts by restoring damaged property,\u201d Mr Truss said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe should always thank and show our appreciation to volunteers who work to make life a little easier for someone else.<\/p>\n

\u201cVolunteers perform a range of important work, giving up their free time and resources to care for others by delivering a variety of community services.<\/p>\n

“They make an enormous difference to the well-being of countless Australians and those less fortunate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Truss said Wide Bay relies heavily on the contribution of volunteers.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIf you know of a volunteer who deserves special recognition, please contact me and I will arrange for the volunteer to receive a special national certificate recognising their efforts,\u201d Mr Truss said.<\/p>\n

Over the last few months, Mr Truss had received nomination forms asking him to say “thank you” to the volunteers at the Goomeri SES.<\/p>\n

He presented certificates to Paula Wardell (Goomeri SES, Rural Fire and Rescue, Lions, Show Society), Dean Wardell (Goomeri SES, Rural Fire and Rescue, Lions, Show Society), Jimmy Wardell (Goomeri SES and Rural Fire and Rescue) and Ramon Morsch, Gregory Ah-Quee, Steve Kay and Ian Cocks (Goomeri SES).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
