Emergency crews were called to Pimpimbudgee about 3:30pm on Wednesday after a fire which started in a farm truck spread to nearby grassland.<\/p>\n

Four fire units – two urban and two rural – attended the blaze which began on a truck carrying a load of straw bales.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred near the Middle Creek-Cooyar Road intersection with\u00a0Kingaroy-Cooyar Road (between Maidenwell and the New England Highway turn-off).<\/p>\n

It is not known at this stage how the fire started in the truck.<\/p>\n

Front-end loaders were used to pull some of the burning bales off the truck to give firefighters an opportunity to spray foam on the rest of the load.<\/p>\n

The truck was incinerated.<\/p>\n

A man was taken to Nanango Hospital by ambulance suffering burns to his arm.<\/p>\n

A QFES spokesperson said that at 4:30pm, the truck fire had been extinguished and firefighters were in the process of establishing a firebreak around the grass fire.<\/p>\n
