The Council will be moving a pedestrian crossing near Booth Street closer to Mirage Avenue to help provide Taabinga State School students with a safer school environment<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

September 28, 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

The South Burnett Regional Council will begin upgrading a school crossing in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy adjacent to Taabinga State School in the week commencing Monday, October 9.<\/p>\n

The project will include road widening, kerbing and channeling, creation of a new concrete footpath, the relocation of the existing pedestrian crossing near Booth Street and the installation of a new “Children Crossing” closer to the school’s Kingaroy Street access gate.<\/p>\n

A Council spokesperson said the works were being undertaken to provide a safer school environment, and to reduce ongoing maintenance costs.<\/p>\n

The project is expected to be completed in November, weather permitting.<\/p>\n

During construction, traffic controllers or traffic lights will be in place to provide a safe work environment.<\/p>\n

Traffic will be diverted past the works, and minor disruptions are anticipated.<\/p>\n

At times some local residents may not be able to access their properties when the immediate works are at their driveways, and the onsite supervisor will notify affected residents of this in advance.<\/p>\n
