The Leukaemia Foundation is calling for volunteers to host Light the Night events in the South Burnett in October or November to help light the way for families devastated by blood cancer.<\/p>\n

Now in its tenth year, Light the Night is a unique fundraising event that brings Australia\u2019s blood cancer community together in more than 140 locations to remember and reflect during a moving ceremony and short lantern walk.<\/p>\n

“Hosting your own Light the Night event is a way to proudly show people in your community facing blood cancer that even in their darkest hour, they\u2019re not alone,” Leukaemia Foundation Community Fundraising Officer Lillian Tebbutt said.<\/p>\n

“You can fundraise by simply inviting friends, family or co-workers to a dinner party or movie night, every dollar counts.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019ll give you all the advice and tools you need to create a moving and inspirational night.<\/p>\n

“The Leukaemia Foundation runs flagship events in major cities, but our wonderful Light the Night host kits give locals an opportunity to be part of this inspiring event, too.”<\/p>\n

Last year more than 35,000 people from every state and territory attended a Light the Night event, which can vary in size and location.<\/p>\n

Some may involve just a few family and friends meeting at a local park, while others are larger events supported by local councils and with larger crowds.<\/p>\n

Community hosts are fully supported by the Leukaemia Foundation and receive a comprehensive guide on how to hold their event, along with posters, flyers, fundraising tools and dedicated phone support.<\/p>\n
