The Heritage Nanango New Year’s Eve Mardi Gras will relocate to Pioneer Park and become a much more family-friendly event this year<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Heritage Nanango New Year’s Eve Mardi Gras will take on a new look this year.<\/p>\n

The Mardi Gras will move from Nanango Showgrounds to Pioneer Park, and organisers say the popular event will have a renewed focus on families.<\/p>\n

Instead of loud rock and roll, there’ll be light popular music on the Pioneer Park stage.<\/p>\n

There’ll also be inexpensive $2 and $4 amusement rides for children, $6 dodgem cars, free face painting and other activities to keep young ones happily entertained.<\/p>\n

Food vendors will dot the park to help fill hungry tummies, and there’ll be tea, coffee and soft drinks available at family-friendly prices, too.<\/p>\n

In the interests of promoting a fun and safe entry point to the New Year, alcohol will be banned.<\/p>\n

And rather than run beyond midnight as it has the past two years, the Mardi Gras will run from 5:00pm to 10:00pm, with a giant fireworks display between 8:30pm to 9:00pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After this, families can return home for an early night while revellers can move on to Nanango’s nearby hotels or RSL to see in the New Year.<\/p>\n

The Mardi Gras committee told southburnett.com.au this year’s event is largely organised and they’re looking forward to a fun night out.<\/p>\n

The Mardi Gras attracts crowds of up to 5000 and is completely free to attend.<\/p>\n

However, some more food vendors would be appreciated to help round out the event’s snack and supper offerings, and any interested vendors can phone Sue on 0411-826-403 to secure a free position in the grounds.<\/p>\n
