Yallakool and Lake Boondooma manager Corey Goldie and well-known South Burnett fishing columnist Matthew Langford came fifth in the Bass Nation Australian Team Championships<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Yallakool\/Lake Boondooma manager Corey Goldie and fishing columnist Matthew Langford were placed equal fifth in the Bass Nation Australian Team Championships at the weekend.<\/p>\n

The Grand Final of the prestigious fishing competition was held at Lake Glenbawn in NSW on September 9-10.<\/p>\n

A total of 34 teams participated in the event, which was won by Dean Silvester and Mark Ferguson of Bass\u2019N Bream Tackle who weighed in a winning catch of 14.76kg.<\/p>\n

The pair have won a trip to the USA to compete in the Bassmaster Team Championship on Norfolk Lake, Arkansas.<\/p>\n

Jye Clayden and Brendan Footit from Instinct Outdoors were runners up with a catch of 14.25kg, followed by Dane Radosevic and Garry Harman of Legend Boats\/Simrad (13.32kg) and New England Rangers (12.87kg).<\/p>\n

Goldie and Langford, playing as 2 Dams One Destination, tied for equal fifth with Planet72 Icecreamery with identical catches of 12.82kg.<\/p>\n

Corey said he was “absolutely stoked” with the team’s result, considering the high standard of the competition.<\/p>\n

“It was a great weekend with heaps of fish coming to the boat in all sessions,” Corey said.<\/p>\n

“I’m very happy with our run this year, and adding another top 10 ranking is very satisfying.”<\/p>\n

Corey said he’s now looking forward to competing in the Storm Bass Australian Open, which will be held at Cania Dam this coming weekend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
