Nanango’s 15th annual Country Muster officially got underway on Friday but as proof of just how popular the annual event is, visitors began arriving at the showgrounds on Monday.<\/p>\n

Nanango Show Society president Les Schloss said about 750 caravanners had booked in so far.<\/p>\n

“The word is getting out and you are all turning up,” he said.<\/p>\n

The crowd enjoyed a display of whip-cracking from St John’s Lutheran School before former Nanango Mayor Reg McCallum officially opened the Muster.<\/p>\n

He congratulated Les and his committee for arranging an event that so many people appreciate.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Mayor Keith Campbell welcomed the crowd to the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

“Most of you that I spoke to have returned to this event year after year and that is a great accolade to you, Les,” he said.<\/p>\n

Entertainment on Friday started at noon and ran until 10:00pm.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, the music will start at 9:00am. Entertainers during the day will include Dean Perrett, Col Hardy, Graham Rodger and Tom Maxwell.<\/p>\n

At 6:00pm, Gary Fogarty and friends will present bush poetry.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, bush poets will take to the stage again from 7:30am to 9:30am, followed by gospel music until noon.<\/p>\n
