The South Burnett Community Bank Group is inviting applications for its 2013 tertiary study scholarship.<\/p>\n

The group will provide support to an academically capable local student to further their tertiary education.<\/p>\n

Officially opening applications for the 2013 academic year, Community Bank chairman Noel Strohfeld said the program was designed to give the students an opportunity to pursue their dreams.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re proud to financially support local students to continue their education which will not only be a benefit to them but also to the wider community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The successful applicant will initially receive funding for one year and depending on academic performance, the scholarship may be renewed to assist the second year of study.<\/p>\n

This is the second year that the group has awarded a scholarship.<\/p>\n

The inaugural South Burnett Community Enterprises\u2019 Scholarship (Yarraman and District Community Bank Branch & Blackbutt branch) supported local student Patrick Walsh with his studies at the University of St Lucia this year.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett Community Enterprises\u2019 Scholarship (Yarraman and District Community Bank Branch & Blackbutt branch) scholarship is part of one of Australia\u2019s largest privately funded tertiary scholarship programs.<\/p>\n

It is run in partnership with the Bendigo and Adelaide Bank.<\/p>\n

Applications close on Friday, January 25 and will be assessed in early 2013.<\/p>\n
