Art lovers only have a few days left to see the second half of the Queensland Winter Craft Festival at the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery.<\/p>\n

The two-month long festival began in early June and will wind up at 2:00pm this Sunday, June 30.<\/p>\n

During June, the Gallery exhibited Alpaca wool fashion wear, lapidary, photography, woodwork and textile art pieces.<\/p>\n

This month the gallery is showcasing wearable art from the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum; Refire Pottery from the Barambah Pottery Group; paper tole works by Rosemarie Matthews-Frederick; and 11 pieces of textile art created by the Darling Downs Textile Art Group around the theme of Mulga Bill’s Bicycle.<\/p>\n

Reaction to this year’s Craft Festival has exceeded last year’s inaugural outing.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy Art Team president Jenny Gemmel said the gallery had seen large numbers of visitors over the past two months, and lots of sales.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It now seems likely the event will become a fixture on the Gallery’s annual exhibition calendar.<\/p>\n

The gallery also hope to see other South Burnett galleries involved in the craft festival in future.<\/p>\n

Jernny said this was a key reason the group changed the event’s name from Kingaroy Winter Craft Festival to Queensland Winter Crafts Festival this year.<\/p>\n

The festival will remain on display at the gallery from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Friday, and 10:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday and Sunday, before it closes.<\/p>\n

Admission to view the exhibition is free.<\/p>\n

Note: The Refire Pottery Project will be holding a special pop-up exhibition at The Ration Shed Museum in Cherbourg on Wednesday, August 2.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The pop-up exhibition will feature artwork from the project, as well as an afternoon tea, and will run from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.<\/p>\n
