A 21-year-old Central Queensland man suffered serious injuries when his 4WD left the road and crashed into a large tree beside the D’Aguilar Highway at Gilla, near Blackbutt, in the early hours of Monday morning.<\/p>\n

Police are unsure about what time the crash occurred but believe it was between 2:00am and 3:00am.<\/p>\n

The driver of the LandCruiser trayback, which was travelling towards Blackbutt, was the sole occupant of the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Officer-in-Charge of Yarraman Police, Sergeant Sean Relf, \u00a0said the man was taken by ambulance to Nanango Hospital and then airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He travelled in a serious but stable condition.<\/p>\n

Emergency services from Yarraman and Blackbutt attended the crash scene.<\/p>\n

Sgt Relf said the Police Forensic Crash Unit would be investigating.<\/p>\n

“Police will be investigating when the crash occurred and what the circumstances were leading up to it,” he said.<\/p>\n

UPDATE 3:00pm:<\/span> \u00a0It is believed the driver could have been trapped in his vehicle for up to five hours.<\/strong><\/p>\n

An RACQ LifeFlight spokesperson said the vehicle may have gone down the embankment beside the highway about midnight.<\/p>\n

QFES and QAS \u00a0paramedics were first on the scene, working to free the man from the wreckage before taking him by road ambulance to Nanango Hospital.<\/p>\n

LifeFlight’s Toowoomba-based Surat Gas Aero-Medical Service helicopter was despatched about 6:50am to airlift the man.<\/p>\n

The man was treated for multi-trauma injuries and flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane in a serious but stable condition.<\/p>\n

Two people were taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition after a two vehicles collided in Kingaroy on Monday morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The incident occurred about 8:30am at the corner of Ivy Street and Tessmanns Road.<\/p>\n
