Detectives from Kingaroy, Roma and Toowoomba have seized drugs, unregistered weapons and 4000 rounds of military-style ammunition in a raid on a property near Tara.<\/p>\n

Police say the ammunition was full metal jacket rounds that would suit SKS semi-automatic and AK-47 automatic weapons.<\/p>\n

The raid was carried out by the Major and Organised Crime Squad (Rural), formerly known as the Stock and Rural Crime Investigation Squad (SARCIS).<\/p>\n

The detectives executed a search warrant on the Daybreak Road road property.<\/p>\n

Police will allege that during the search they located and seized items that had been used in the production of cannabis, as well as dried cannabis plants, packaged cannabis, cannabis seeds and multiple cannabis harvest sites<\/p>\n

They also allegedly located large 200-litre storage drums that had been used to conceal cannabis in the ground.

\nPolice also allegedly found multiple six inch PVC cylinders that had also been used to bury and preserve illegal rifles.<\/p>\n

A 70-year old-male was arrested and charged with possessing and producing dangerous drugs, possessing drug utensils, possessing unregistered and unsecured firearms and possessing a significant quantity of explosives.<\/p>\n

He will appear in the Dalby Magistrates Court on August 15.<\/p>\n

Detective Sergeant Mark Ferling said the MOCS operations were designed to keep the community safe from illegal substances and weapons.<\/p>\n
