A travelling South Burnett art show which has toured Nanango, Dalby and Warwick is on display at the Wondai Regional Art Gallery until the end of this month.<\/p>\n

“Brushes and Flashes Of The South Burnett” was put together by Nanango artist Karren Bolton.<\/p>\n

Karren is completing a degree in Fine Arts and came up with the idea of the touring exhibition for her final year project.<\/p>\n

The project was run by the Nanango Arts Network Alliance and made its debut at the Nanango Cultural Centre last September.<\/p>\n

The exhibition features four works apiece by eleven local artists in a variety of media, including painting, pencil drawing, sculpture and paper tole.<\/p>\n

Karren said she had originally planned to tour the exhibition at eight different galleries around Queensland, but organisational difficulties had forced this ambitious schedule to be cut short.<\/p>\n

However “Brushes and Flashes” had been very well received wherever it was shown.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Many works had also been sold and needed to be replaced – so the exhibition on show at Wondai is not entirely the same exhibition that debuted at Nanango’s Cultural Centre nine months ago.<\/p>\n

“Brushes and Flashes” was officially opened at the Wondai Regional Art Gallery on Friday, July 7 by Cr Ros Heit, who said she was very impressed with the quality of the works and the diversity of styles on display.<\/p>\n

Cr Heit congratulated all the artists involved in putting it together, and the positive impression of the South Burnett the exhibition created.<\/p>\n

“We have many tremendously talented artists in the South Burnett, and we are lucky we do,” Cr Heit said.<\/p>\n
