Parents should be getting ready to apply for Get Started vouchers, with the next round opening this week.<\/p>\n

Sports Minister Mick de Brenni said $2 million had been allocated for Round 10 of the program.<\/p>\n

The vouchers, up to the value of $150, help families with the costs of joining their local sport or recreation club.<\/p>\n

\u201cDemand for the last round of Get Started Vouchers was so high we had to reopen the round and release more,\u201d Mr de Brenni said<\/p>\n

\u201cVouchers are issued on a \u2018first come, first served\u2019 basis so you need to be quick if you want to secure this funding.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor any eligible parent who is keen to get their hands on a voucher for their child in this round, I would encourage them to pre-register for this latest round of Get Started Vouchers now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr de Brenni said more than 13,300 vouchers would be available through Round 10.<\/p>\n

\u201cMore than 4200 clubs across Queensland have registered for the Get Started Vouchers program, ensuring there is a huge range of activities on offer,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Sports portfolio chair Cr Ros Frohloff said on Monday she hoped as many locals as possible took advantage of the program.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Applications for Round 10 of the \u2018Get Started Vouchers\u2019 will open July 12 and usually go within the first week,” Cr Frohloff said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI encourage South Burnett residents to get in quick and register as these vouchers are snapped up very quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Get Started Vouchers are an initiative under the State Government\u2019s “Get in the Game” funding program aimed at supporting grassroots sport and recreation.<\/p>\n
