Police have warned drivers to take extra care when driving in foggy conditions – and rain – after a spate of accidents in the South Burnett over the past 24 hours.<\/p>\n

About 6:30pm on Wednesday, emergency services were called to a single vehicle crash near Wooroolin.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A young man was taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition.<\/p>\n

No further information is available.<\/p>\n

About 5:00am on Thursday, a youth in his late teens suffered serious injuries when his vehicle left the road and hit a tree at Gilla, near Blackbutt, on the D’Aguilar Highway.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The young man was taken by ambulance to Nanango Hospital in a critical condition with head, neck and chest injuries.<\/p>\n

He was then transferred by an RACQ LifeFlight helicopter to Royal Brisbane and Women\u2019s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.<\/p>\n

A third crash occurred just before 8:00am on Thursday at Ellesmere.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Holden Commodore sedan and a logging truck collided head-on on Ellesmere Road.<\/p>\n

The young male driver of the Commodore had to be cut free from the wrecked vehicle.<\/p>\n

He was taken to Kingaroy Hospital with suspected serious injuries.<\/p>\n

Acting Senior Sergeant Alan Gerrard, the acting Officer-in-Charge at Kingaroy Police, urged people – especially young male drivers – to slow down and take precautions if driving in foggy conditions or when the roads were slippery after rain.<\/p>\n

UPDATE:<\/strong> About 5:30pm on Wednesday, emergency services were called to a single vehicle crash on the D’Aguilar Highway, near Nanango.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A small hatchback left the road and ran into a ditch.<\/p>\n
