A special workshop held recently in Kingaroy for electricians is a first for the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

The Wiring Rules workshop – \u00a0which electricians must attend to ensure they are fully up-to-date with wiring regulations and procedures –\u00a0is usually held in \u00a0Brisbane, Toowoomba or the Sunshine Coast, which meant repeated travelling for local electricians.<\/p>\n

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington said South Burnett electricians had secured “a common sense win” for the region by securing a Wiring Rules workshop for Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

“This issue was first brought to my attention by Wondai electrician Mr David Brocklesby, who felt it was unacceptable that the South Burnett kept getting overlooked,\u201d Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n

Mr Brocklesby said the outcome\u00a0achieved was that the Electrical Safety Office organised a workshop for Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s about time and I look forward to it continuing,\u201d Mr Brocklesby said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mrs Frecklington said it might seem like a small win but “in\u00a0reality, this means less travel, less time wastage and less hours away from business and family to attend these important training workshops\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt seems like our region is forgotten by Brisbane-based departments when they organise these types of events, so it is great to finally have the region put on the Wiring Rules Roadshow map.”<\/p>\n

More than 50 electricians attended the workshop, which was held at the Kingaroy RSL on June 28.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
