Fans of textile art, Alpaca wool creations, lapidary, photography and woodwork only have a few days left to see an exhibition of them at the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery.<\/p>\n

The gallery opened the first half of their annual Queensland Craft Festival on June 9.<\/p>\n

But at close of business this Sunday (July 2), they’ll be moving the current exhibition out and replacing it with the Craft Festival’s second half, which will feature wearable art, paper toile and pottery from the ReFire Project.<\/p>\n

The opening of this year’s Queensland Craft Festival was one of the best attended openings held at the gallery so far this year.<\/p>\n

It was also one of the most popular with buyers.<\/p>\n

Many works were snapped up on opening night, and foot traffic through the gallery over the past few weeks has seen more items win a coveted red dot.<\/p>\n

New Kingaroy Art Team president Jenny Gemmell said it hasn’t been uncommon to see as many as 40 visitors a day tour the gallery to see the works.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We have had a really positive response to this exhibition from just about everyone,” Jenny said.<\/p>\n

“I’m sure the second half will get an equally positive reaction.<\/p>\n

“The works on show really are a credit to all the crafts people involved.”<\/p>\n

The Festival’s June exhibition will remain on display until July 2, after which it will be replaced by the July exhibition from July 3 to 30.<\/p>\n

The Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery is located in Haly Street, Kingaroy next to the Visitor Information Centre and is open from 10:00am to 4:00pm Mondays to Fridays and 10:00am to 2:00pm on weekends.<\/p>\n

Admission to view the exhibitions is free.<\/p>\n
