Keen sports fan Wayne Kratzmann is organising a one week tour to this year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Former South Burnett Mayor Wayne Kratzmann will be taking a one-week break from the region in early November so he and his wife Eleanor can take part in the spectacle of the Melbourne Cup Carnival.<\/p>\n

And he won’t be the only one!<\/p>\n

Kratzie, who now presents a Sunday morning show on CROW-FM, has organised a 2017 Melbourne Cup Tour with Ambassador Travel for 30 people on November 3-10.<\/p>\n

And on Tuesday he said he still has a couple of seats available if more locals want to join in.<\/p>\n

“This is the second time El and I have done this tour,” Kratzie said.<\/p>\n

“We took a group down to the Cup last year and we had such a fabulous time we want to do it all over again.”<\/p>\n

The tour will depart from Brisbane Airport on Friday, November 3 for a flight to Melbourne, where guests will be transferred to the Oaks on Market hotel in the heart of town for welcome drinks.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The next day, guests will be transported to Flemington Racecourse for the opening day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival – the AAMI Victoria Derby Day – which is considered by most purists to be one of the best single days of thoroughbred racing in the world.<\/p>\n

The following day will be a free day to enjoy everything Melbourne has to offer, from the art galleries to the shops and restaurants in one of Australia’s biggest capital cities.<\/p>\n

On the Monday, guests can watch the Emirates Melbourne Cup Parade, do some shopping, or perhaps join an optional tour. And in the evening, they’ll be transferred to an exclusive Emirates Melbourne Cup Eve Dinner at Crown Casino for an evening to remember.<\/p>\n

Tuesday, of course, is Melbourne Cup Day and guests will be whisked back to Flemington to bask in the excitement and atmosphere of Australia\u2019s richest and most famous race day of the year. <\/strong><\/p>\n

“The Emirates Melbourne Cup is a spectacular event to see in person,” Kratzie said.<\/p>\n

“Every year it creates a new legend and brings the country to a standstill.”<\/p>\n

The following day, tour guests can join an optional tour to Living Legends – the International Home of Rest for Champion Horses, which houses some of Australia\u2019s finest retired racehorses including
\nRogan Josh and Doriemus.<\/p>\n

Alternatively, they can travel along the famous Great Ocean Road on a Gray Line Tour.<\/p>\n

But on Thursday it’s back to Flemington again to enjoy Ultimate Style Day, with the highlight being the running of the Group 1 VRC Oaks, before being transferred to Tullamarine the next morning for the return flight to Brisbane.<\/p>\n

“Ultimate Style Day is a time when women of all ages come together and celebrate feminine elegance at Flemington,” Kratzie said.<\/p>\n

“It’s just awesome.”<\/p>\n

Kratzie said he understood not everyone could take a full week off around Cup Day, but Ambassador Travel are able to tailor shorter or longer itineraries to suit.<\/strong><\/p>\n
