Kingaroy’s Glendon Street forecourt took on a festive look for a few hours on Saturday night to help launch the South Burnett’s first digital bridal magazine and website.<\/p>\n

The new Cherish This Day wedding industry group – which aims to make the South Burnett a favoured place for weddings – treated guests at the launch to a delicious High Tea, accompanied by wine and soft drinks supplied by Kingsley Grove Estate.<\/p>\n

South Burnett Deputy Mayor Kathy Duff, who has written the foreword to the first edition of the digital magazine, was on hand to cut a specially decorated cake.<\/p>\n

She was accompanied by fellow councillor Ros Heit and Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington.<\/p>\n

Cherish This Day secretary Jo Berry thanked guests for braving the cool winter night to attend the launch.<\/strong><\/p>\n

She said the group aimed to bring out a new edition of the free bridal magazine twice a year.<\/p>\n

The magazine will feature big, bright photos and up-to-date articles supplied by the group’s members.<\/p>\n

It will also discuss the latest trends in weddings and focus on the beauty of the region as a place to hold idyllic nuptials.<\/p>\n

Both the digital magazine and website will promote the services that the group’s members can provide for wedding and event organisers, Jo said.<\/p>\n

“We believe this two-pronged approach will encourage local brides to think twice about taking their wedding out of our region, and encourage out-of-region brides to venture to the country for their special day,” Jo said.<\/p>\n

“The South Burnett is the perfect bridal destination and Cherish This Day intend to put it on the bridal destination map.”<\/p>\n

The magazine was designed by the group’s vice president Amanda Wenck, from Truth Designs, who said it involved an enormous amount of work but she hoped readers enjoyed it.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We wanted to make sure the magazine has real substance,” Amanda said.<\/p>\n

Cr Kathy Duff said she was honoured to be asked to write the foreword to the first edition, and thought the group had an excellent concept.<\/p>\n

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington congratulated the group on their initiative.<\/p>\n

“I think this a really great idea, and I wish you every success,” Mrs Frecklington said.<\/p>\n
