The Burnett branch of the Ulysses social motorbike club wants to help spread the joy of Christmas to needy South Burnett families this December.<\/p>\n

Club members want to bring a Christmas Toy Run to the South Burnett, and they’d like help from local businesses and residents to do it.<\/p>\n

Ulysses is a social club for motorcyclists aged 40 years and over, and is the largest social motorcycling club in Australia. It has over 22,000 members, and has international branches as well.<\/p>\n

The Burnett branch has made many contributions to other community organisations in the South Burnett over the past few years, and they’ve appointed members Colin and Sandy Nebe as the Toy Run’s coordinators.<\/p>\n

“We are bringing the Christmas Toy Run to the South Burnett and we want to collect toys and non-perishable food items from the public,” Sandy said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We will be passing on what we collect to the Salvation Army in Kingaroy to help bring some joy to local families in need at Christmas time.<\/p>\n

“Our aim is to start collecting toys and food items six weeks prior to the toy run date, and then collect more on the day at each stop point on the toy run route.”<\/p>\n

The Toy Run will be held on Sunday, November 26, but Sandy said getting word about it out early would give people who want to contribute plenty of time to prepare.<\/p>\n

“Because Ulysses is a not-for-profit organisation, we are asking local businesses and residents for support to help make this event something that families in need will look forward to and support each year.<\/p>\n

“We would really appreciate it if business and residents could support the Toy Drive by being a drop-off point for toys and food items.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Donations of raffle items would also be greatly appreciated.”<\/p>\n

Sandy said participating in the event would give local businesses exposure not only to keen motorcyclists and motoring enthusiasts from all over South East Queensland, but also to families in local communities as well.<\/p>\n

The Burnett branch of Ulysses meets on the second Saturday of every month from 9:00am at SBCare at the corner of Kingaroy and Avoca Streeets in Kingaroy, and also hold regular rides. New members are always welcome.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
