Construction has started on a $110,000 project to repair the roadway entrance into Murgon Hospital.<\/p>\n

The project is being funded as part of the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service regular maintenance program.<\/p>\n

The front roadway entrance will be fenced off until June 30; temporary public access has been opened at the rear of the building.<\/p>\n

Public parking, including disabled parking, has also been provided at the rear of the building, within the hospital grounds.<\/p>\n

Signs have been set up to indicate the alternative public access and parking arrangements.<\/p>\n

An alternative access to the ambulance ramp has also been established for paramedics, and access to the helipad across the roadway will be available at all times upon request.<\/p>\n

Murgon Hospital Director of Nursing Facility Manager Julie Kelly said she was pleased to see work start on the roadway entrance upgrade.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe upgraded roadway entrance is part of an ongoing schedule of improvements at Murgon Hospital this year, including the new ambulance ramp and refurbished emergency department which cost nearly $215,000 and were completed in early June,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese ongoing works give us the capacity to cater for increasing patient numbers as the Murgon region continues to grow.<\/p>\n
