Christmas can be a difficult time for families … stretching some relationships to breaking point.<\/p>\n

“There can be a lot of pressure and stress, and family sadness,” UnitingCare Area Manager Ros Heit said.<\/p>\n

This means that while most of us are looking forward to a holiday break, agencies such as UnitingCare are gearing for what could be their busiest time of the year.<\/p>\n

Every year UnitingCare accommodates up to 80 women and 100 children in the South Burnett as well as assisting up to 400 families in a number of different programs.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy’s Quota International club recently decided to help UnitingCare by conducting a drive among its members to collect goods to donate to women in crisis.<\/p>\n

Club president Marie Shaw and Wendy Tully handed over a bootload of items to UnitingCare this afternoon.<\/p>\n

“I really appreciate the donations from Quota so we can help vulnerable families at this time of the year,” Mrs Heit said.<\/p>\n

Currently UnitingCare is directly providing for four women and 13 children, plus four families.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
