One of the last acts planned by the Kumbia Progress Association before it folds at the end of the month was a project to replant some of the missing trees in the avenue at the northern entrance to town.<\/p>\n

Association president Steph Stevens told southburnett.com.au<\/strong> in April that the KPA had been the group responsible for originally planting 100 trees, and the group wanted to replace the 26 of those that had died over the years.<\/p>\n

“KPA decided to replace them as one final gift to the Kumbia community before we close,” Steph wrote in the latest edition of the Kumbia Party Line.<\/p>\n

“After months of planning, sourcing the correct trees, pick-up and delivery of same, buying fertiliser, good soil, mulch, digging the holes, planting the trees, staking them and watering them, some low-life thought it a good idea to steal eight of (the) 26 Brachychiton acerifolium. How pathetic!”<\/p>\n

“We urge everyone to be vigilant and be on the lookout for any suspicious behaviour.”<\/p>\n
