Twenty-one local dancers enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity last week when famous Australian dance teacher Rebecca Davies visited the LaCreme Dance Academy in Nanango.<\/p>\n

Rebecca is the inventor of the RADAR Technique, which transforms dancers\u2019 techniques in a matter of minutes.<\/p>\n

Dancers trained under Rebecca can be seen in every major musical currently playing in Australia, including Wicked, Legally Blonde, West Side Story and Dirty Dancing.<\/p>\n

Her students have also been featured in the Australia dance classic movie Razzle Dazzle, the TV series Dance Academy, and have worked in productions with Opera Australia.<\/p>\n

She has also trained company members of the Australian Ballet, the Bolshoi Ballet, the Royal Ballet, and the National Ballet of Canada.<\/p>\n

In Nanango, the LaCreme students learned the secrets to pirouettes, kick turns, dance conditioning, jumps, leaps and dance tricks, and said they thoroughly enjoyed the experience.<\/p>\n

Rebecca also enjoyed her day in Nanango, commenting on her own social media page “Thank you LaCreme Dance Academy for an awesome day. So much talent, strength and – wow! – you guys can fly. The best thing about visiting Australian country dance schools is that they have no idea how awesome they are!”<\/p>\n

This workshop was funded by the Nanango Association for Dance community group.<\/p>\n

This not-for-profit organisation fundraises to support and encourage the development of dance in the South Burnett’s communities.<\/p>\n

“Without the community’s support for our group, opportunities like this would be unattainable for our region’s dancers,” Association for Dance spokesperson Jacqueline Campbell said.<\/p>\n
