Nanango and Kingaroy ended up with a draw after a bizarre end to their A Grade rugby league game played at Nanango on Saturday.<\/p>\n

At half-time, the Red Ants were ahead 12-6 and looked to have the upper hand despite the low score.<\/p>\n

As the game progressed, Kingaroy drew even further ahead, leading 24-10 with 29 minutes to go after a try by Mitch Crossley, converted by Jye Thorley.<\/p>\n

But then Nanango put on two quick tries in 10 minutes to cut the margin back to two points, 24-20.<\/p>\n

During the last 40 seconds Nanango put a speculative kick into the in-goal which was grounded and claimed as a try … but the referee disagreed.<\/p>\n

Not to be deterred, Nanango kicked ahead again and this time the dive on the ball was rewarded, levelling the scores.<\/p>\n

Nanango’s Drew Jackson, not really known for his kicking prowess, took the attempted conversion after the siren which, predictably, missed.<\/p>\n

The 24-all scoreline was probably the right result for a topsy-turvy game which Kingaroy allowed to get away from them.<\/p>\n

The Red Ants also lost a player to the sin bin for 10 minutes at a crucial time which took the momentum out of their attack.<\/p>\n

Kingaroy tries were scored by Jason Tessmann, Brody Litfin, Penisimani Teutau and Mitch Crossley. Crossley kicked three goals and Jye Thorley one.<\/p>\n

Nanango try scorers were Ashley Smallwood (2), Bill Peillon, Hayden Krauksts and Pesilai Kilioni. Smallwood kicked two conversions.<\/p>\n
