Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien has released the names of the winners of his “Wide Bay In Pictures” competition.<\/p>\n

In November last year, Mr O’Brien invited primary and secondary students in his electorate \u2013 which includes many South Burnett schools \u2013 to submit photographs or drawings which highlighted the diversity and beauty of Wide Bay.<\/p>\n

He said a selection of the pictures would be printed on canvas and put on display in his Parliament House office.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was really impressed by the quality of the entries that were submitted by school students from all over the Wide Bay electorate,\u201d Mr O\u2019Brien said last week.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt made the task of selecting just two pictures each from students from the Noosa Council; Fraser Coast Regional Council; Gympie Regional Council; and South Burnett Regional Council and Cherbourg Aboriginal Council (combined) very difficult.<\/p>\n

\u201cStudents captured the diversity of Wide Bay in their scores of photographic and artistic entries, with images depicting coastal sunsets, heritage buildings, scenic hinterland and productive agriculture, as well as some very creative works.<\/p>\n

\u201cWide Bay is a great place to live and work and it is very encouraging to see the pride that young people take in highlighting the parts of our region that are special to them.”<\/p>\n
