Saints’ defenders kept the Hawks in check as the margin between the teams grew<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

South Burnett Saints have enjoyed back-to-back home games and notched up back-to-back wins in Round 5 of the Darling Downs AFL competition.<\/p>\n

The Saints took on the Goondiwindi Hawks on Saturday at Lyle Vidler Oval in one of the best games seen in Kingaroy for some time.<\/p>\n

The teams got off to an even start, with the Hawks just in the lead at the first change.<\/p>\n

But the South Burnett kicked into gear in the second quarter to be leading by 54 points at half-time.<\/p>\n

From there, the Saints couldn’t be stopped, finishing more than 100 points ahead, 27.14 (176) to 11.8 (74), at full-time.<\/p>\n

Saints’ goals were kicked by Nathan Trace (8), Jordan Pressnell (6), Kieran Askin (3), Joseph Amery (2), Keegan Wright (2), Mathew Flanigan (2), Jack Hourn (2), Braeden Snow and Adam Bowater.<\/p>\n

The Saints’ now will enjoy a week off. Their next game will be back in Kingaroy on June 3 against the Toowoomba Tigers.<\/p>\n
