South Burnett residents wanting to discuss issues of concern had politicians from all three levels of government on hand at the BIEDO “Open House” held at Murgon Town Hall recently.<\/p>\n

Federal Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien, who was guest speaker on the night, joined State Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington, South Burnett Mayor Keith Campbell, Deputy Mayor Kathy Duff and Cr Ros Heit mingling with visitors.<\/p>\n

When they were finished chatting to the politicians, visitors had the opportunity browse the large range of trade stalls offering information on a wide range of topics.<\/p>\n

There was information available from an eclectic mix of government, not-for-profit and commercial businesses, including Orana Lutheran Complex in Kingaroy, Centrelink, Graham House in Murgon, the QRAA, Torkit Business Solutions, NBN, Max Employment, the Commonwealth Bank, Workcover and South Burnett Garage Doors.<\/p>\n

Outside the hall, volunteers from the Murgon Men’s Shed were cooking up a barbecue dinner while Mon-Dee Coffee 2 Go had plenty of warm cups available.<\/p>\n

BIEDO \u00a0(the Burnett Inland Economic Development Organisation) organised the Open House to shine a light on local businesses and services.<\/p>\n

It was part of Queensland Small Business Week celebrations in the region.<\/p>\n

A previous BIEDO Open House was held at Durong in March.<\/p>\n
