Police detected just eight offences at this year’s Burrandowan Picnic Races – and while it’s not a perfect score, they say they’re happy with general crowd behaviour at the event.<\/p>\n

Over the Mother’s Day weekend, police from the Dalby Burnett Patrol Group and Dalby Road Policing took part in Operation Papa Blueberry.<\/p>\n

The aim was to provide a police presence at the Burrandowan Picnic Races to deter and detect liquor, traffic and good order offences.<\/p>\n

Police said that overall, the crowd of about 3000 people – both campers or day trippers – were well behaved and happy to engage in positive discussions on course with police officers.<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the operation, police had conducted 194 RBTs with two people receiving a Notice to Appear for returning a positive test.<\/p>\n

One Notice to Appear was also issued for wilful exposure, and two Enforcement Notices were issued for wilful exposure and public urination.<\/p>\n

A further three Traffic Enforcement Notices were issued for speeding offences.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
