One of Kingaroy’s longest residential streets will be getting a concrete footpath over the next seven weeks, thanks to the State Government.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett Regional Council will begin laying a footpath along the southern side of Ivy Street on Monday (May 15).<\/p>\n

The project is being paid for by the Queensland Government through its \u201cWorks For Queensland\u201d job creation program, which saw the Council receive a bonus $4.2 million in January this year for maintenance and minor capital works projects.<\/p>\n

The works will include the excavation of the existing footpath, where necessary, and the laying of the
\nnew concrete footpath.<\/p>\n

The project’s anticipated completion date is the end of June, weather permitting.<\/p>\n

To provide a safe working environment, the footpath and parking areas in the immediate vicinity will be
\nclosed when required, and through traffic will be directed by traffic controllers.<\/p>\n

Property access in Ivy Street may also be restricted for short periods, but residents will be notified in advance of any planned works.<\/p>\n
