Kingaroy RSL carried a \u00a0lead of more than 200 runs into Day 2 of their A Grade match against the Warriors at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n

RSL batted on strongly,\u00a0declaring at 6\/170 and setting the Warriors what looked like an insurmountable target of 375 to win.<\/p>\n

David Hosking (52 n\/o) and Jason Koy (30 n\/o) looked impressive for Kingaroy while\u00a0James Dundas was the best of the Warriors bowlers, taking 4\/34.<\/p>\n

But the Warriors, who were bowled out during their first innings last week for just 92, were not giving up easily and tested Kingaroy’s bowlers.<\/p>\n

Dan O’Connor was the standout batsman for the Warriors, making 120.<\/p>\n

With 12 minutes left remaining in the day’s play, Kingaroy finally bowled Warriors out for 215.\u00a0A series of dropped catches did not help RSL’s cause.<\/p>\n

Best of the RSL bowlers were Anthony Eden (6\/62) and Darren Geiger (2\/44).<\/p>\n

Kingaroy RSL will earn six competition points from the game.<\/p>\n

In the second A Grade match played in the South Burnett at the weekend, Murgon Crusaders chased down Nanango’s score of 111 in just 15 overs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Murgon lost its first wicket after they passed the total and ended up at 1\/115.<\/p>\n

Dereck Sander made 35 and Damien Sippel was 73 n\/o.<\/p>\n

The best bowler for Nanango was S. Morrow with 1\/6 from one over.<\/p>\n

The home side proved too strong for South Burnett in the second round of the Goodchild Shield played at Bundaberg on Sunday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

South Burnett batted first and\u00a0were bowled out for 138.<\/p>\n

Ashley Sippel top scored with 42 while\u00a0Phil Brennan (17), Jay Steinhardt (17) and\u00a0Jason Webber (16) all made a start.<\/p>\n

Best of the Bundaberg bowlers were Brendan Jones (3\/31 off 10 overs) and\u00a0Dean Krebs (2\/13 off seven overs).<\/p>\n

Bundaberg \u00a0made the target in 33 overs with the loss of just three wickets.<\/p>\n

Best of the Bundaberg batsmen were Shaun Rose (67 n\/o) and Jarrod Laycock (17).<\/p>\n

Tavis Hartwig (1\/27 off six overs) and Craig Paterson (1\/38 off seven overs) were the best of the South Burnett bowlers.<\/p>\n

Bundaberg won by seven wickets.<\/p>\n

Wondai Wolves batted first and posted a big target in their B Grade match against Kingaroy RSL at Taabinga.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Geoff Wallis kept the scoreboard ticking over, scoring an impressive 164. Kiall Rowberry took 34 runs and Clayton Graham was 17 n\/o.<\/p>\n

Wondai finished the innings with 9\/298.<\/p>\n

Best of the Kingaroy bowlers were R O’Donohue (3\/41 off six overs), R Turner (2\/24 off 5 overs) and Jacob Heidrich (2\/43 off eight overs).<\/p>\n

In reply, Kingaroy RSL were bundled out for 87. K Freeman was best of the batsmen with 43<\/p>\n

Wolves’ bowler Matt Stumer tore through Kingaroy, taking 5\/9 off five overs. Also impressive were James Cameron (1\/4 off four overs) and Allan Crudass (1\/12 off four overs).<\/p>\n

The Wolves won by 211 runs.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kumbia were caught short-handed in their B Grade match against Warriors at Kumbia but young Corey Cross, who’s just 11, and Mitchell Jackson, 13, did well to step up into the senior ranks.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kumbia were all out for 123 off 29 overs. Best of the Kumbia batsmen were Ryan Kelly (23),\u00a0Russell Holland (22) and\u00a0Shane Laherty (18).<\/p>\n

For Warriors, Ian Haack ended up with the impressive bowling stats of 4\/0 off just 1.3 overs. Brodie Dionysius took 2\/29 off six overs<\/p>\n

In reply, Warriors made 3\/128 off 31 overs.<\/p>\n

Best of the Warriors’ batsmen were\u00a0Al Christensen (42 n\/o) and\u00a0Peter Sorenson (25 n\/o).<\/p>\n

Shane Laherty took 1\/19 off eight overs, and\u00a0Brian Walters, 1\/26 off six overs for Kumbia.<\/p>\n

Kumbia had too many dropped catches.<\/p>\n

Murgon Diggers played two B Grade matches at the weekend.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Friday night they took on Barambah at Murgon Showgrounds. \u00a0The match was brought forward to allow Barambah to play in an indigenous carnival next weekend.<\/p>\n

Diggers batted first and made 5\/233 off 40 overs. They then bowled Barambah out in the 24th over for 142.<\/p>\n

Best of the Diggers’ batsmen were Rodney Anderson (79),\u00a0Clinton Suchoronczak (63) and Ryan Stower (33 n\/o).<\/p>\n

Barambah bowling: Edwin Simpson 1\/12 off five overs; K Walsh 1\/ 21 off five; D Isaacs 1\/18 off two; Craig Currie 1\/19 off five; Gordon Fisher 1\/47 off five; and\u00a0N Willmott 1\/14 off two.<\/p>\n

The best of the Barambah batsmen in reply were Errol Simpson (46), Curtis Hill (15) and\u00a0Victor Alberts (15 n\/o).<\/p>\n

Diggers bowling:\u00a0Nathan Nixon 3\/24 off five overs; Clinton Suchoronczak 2\/34 off seven; Joel Sommerfeld 1\/19 off four; and Leslie Alexander 1\/27 off four.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Diggers faced Murgon Colts at Murgon Showgrounds and notched up their second victory for the weekend.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Diggers batted first and were bowled out in the 36th over for 144.<\/p>\n

In reply, Colts made 128 before they, too, were bowled out in the 36th over.<\/p>\n

Best of the Diggers batsmen were Rodney Anderson (32), Joel Sommerfeld (30) and Tavis Hartwig (25).<\/p>\n

Colts bowling:\u00a0Brad Vanderkolk \u00a03\/5 off 3.1 overs;\u00a0Daniel Georgetown 2\/18 off five;\u00a0Barry Fisher 2\/22 off six;\u00a0Nev Kratzmann 1\/25 off five;\u00a0Karl Jones 1\/29 off eight; and\u00a0Jackson Merritt 1\/24 off four.<\/p>\n

Bests of the Colts batsmen were Nev Kratzmann (45), Karl Jones (22) and\u00a0Tom Langton (23).<\/p>\n
