South Burnett rugby league fans’ wait for the start of the 2017 season is over … there will be a full round of matches played\u00a0in the region on Saturday, from Under 6s through to Seniors.<\/p>\n

In the top grade, 2016 South Burnett premiers and Burnett Cup winners Cherbourg will take on Wondai at Wondai.<\/p>\n

In the other A Grade game, the Murgon Mustangs will face the Kingaroy Red Ants at Murgon.<\/p>\n

All sides should be well-primed after a series of testing trial games, and in the Hornets’ case an interstate game played at Newcastle.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

South Burnett’s U18s, who are playing in the Toowoomba Rugby League’s U18 competition, are up to Round 5 in their competition.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The South Burnett Eagles will play Southern Suburbs at Gold Park in Toowoomba on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n

Twelve teams are taking part in this\u00a0TRL competition.<\/p>\n

The Eagles are currently in fifth spot on the ladder with two wins – played in Kingaroy and Murgon – and two losses.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Three South Burnett women’s teams will be competing in the Sunshine Coast competition this year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

U14s, U16s and U18s South Burnett Eagles were due to play Round 1 games against Nambour in Caboolture on Friday night.<\/p>\n
