Three netball players from the Brisbane West Lions will visit Nanango on Sunday to share their wisdom with local netballers.<\/p>\n

Former Nanango and District netballer Brooke Pollock (Hams) will be one of the players passing on her knowledge from 10:30am.<\/p>\n

Cost is $5 per player (9 to 15 years).<\/p>\n

\u201cNetball is fast becoming a career opportunity for netballers across the country,” Nanango and District Netball Association president Sheena Lindholm said.<\/p>\n

“Our association is focused on providing learning opportunities for netball players to grow their skills and confidence in our game.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be an absolute pleasure for our association and the region to welcome the rising stars of netball who are currently playing in the State League.”<\/p>\n

She said the State League was a career pathway for netballers in both the city and regional Queensland.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“To show that you can come from our association and become an Olympian like Taliqua Clancy or play in the League like Brooke Hams is important and shows that netball is a reputable sport to learn and seek professional status in,” Sheena said.<\/p>\n

After the session with the Brisbane West Lions on Sunday, the association will be hosting a “Coach the Coaches” clinic provided by former New Zealand star coach Leigh Gibbs, from Netball Queensland.<\/p>\n

Coaches will be given the opportunity to gain certification under the guidance of the respected Ms Gibbs.<\/p>\n

Players will also have the opportunity to be coached by Ms Gibbs and the newly accredited coaches.<\/p>\n

Sheena said there were few spots left, but interested players should contact the association by email<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

To register as part of the coaching clinic, which will start at 1:30pm, register at the Clubhouse on game days, visit Nanango Netball\u2019s Facebook page<\/a><\/strong>, send an email<\/a><\/strong> or contact Lynn Smith on 0427-379-958.
