April 11, 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

Memorial Park in Kingaroy will be awash with children hunting Easter Eggs on Saturday, April 15.<\/p>\n

The Kingaroy Lions Club will be holding an Easter Egg Hunt and Family Fun Day at the park from 9:00am to noon.<\/p>\n

In addition to a morning tea, a sausage sizzle and free games, there’ll also be craft activities (three for $5), a 50c per entry colouring-in competition and free games, and the chance to get a photo taken with the Easter Bunny for $5.<\/p>\n

But the biggest attraction of the morning is likely to be two Easter eggs hunts at 9:30am and 11:00am.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Family Fun Day is the first time the Lions Club has put on an Easter activity.<\/p>\n

They believe it’s also the first time an Easter Egg hunt has been held in the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

“We wanted to offer something for families who are staying home for Easter,” Danita Potter said.<\/p>\n

“A lot of people don’t go away at Easter because the roads are too congested.<\/p>\n

“And although there are usually a lot of things to do in our region over the Easter break, there aren’t too many family friendly ones.<\/p>\n

“So we hope this will be something fun and different for families that’s also affordable.”<\/p>\n

The biggest challenge for organisers will be hiding the eggs around the park.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We’ll hide the first batch while we’re setting up, so that shouldn’t be too hard,” Danita said.<\/p>\n

“But the second hunt will be a bit of a challenge.<\/p>\n

“What we’re planning to do is to try to hide the Easter eggs while children are busy with other activities, and I’ll be planting some decoy fake foam eggs to see if we can mix things up a bit.”<\/p>\n

The Family Fun Day is a fundraiser for the Lions Club’s Medical Research Personality Quest<\/b><\/a>, which raises funds for medical research.<\/p>\n

The Kingaroy Lions Club meets every second and fourth Wednesday at the Commercial Hotel in Glendon Street, Kingaroy at 6:30pm.<\/p>\n
