A new wedding industry group aims to make it easier to organise a wedding in the South Burnett, as well as offer locals more choices for their nuptials.<\/p>\n

Cherish This Day is a new not-for-profit industry group that already counts wedding decorators, dressmakers, photographers, cake-makers, accommodation suppliers, wineries, party suppliers and florists amongst its rapidly growing membership.<\/p>\n

The group was formed a little over a month ago by Karen Bradwell from A Wedding Or Event.<\/p>\n

Karen’s business hires a range of equipment for weddings, and has been providing wedding and event planning services in the South Burnett for several years.<\/p>\n

Concerned that many customers felt swamped trying to organise a wedding, Karen got together with her contacts and the idea of creating a local wedding industry group was formed.<\/p>\n

Karen is now the president of the new group, and is assisted by Amanda Wenck from Truth Designs as vice-president, Jo Berry from Kingsley Grove Winery as secretary, and a treasurer.<\/p>\n

One of the group’s first projects will be to create a website that showcases the many different services members can offer.<\/p>\n

Another – which will happen later this month – is to hold a mini Wedding Expo at Kingaroy Shoppingworld for several days so the public can meet members in person.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Cherish This Day members were at Kingsley Grove Winery outside Kingaroy for a website photo shoot.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Professional photographer Denise Keelan was kept busy all afternoon taking shots inside the winery and in the vineyard, as well as some aerial shots using a drone.<\/p>\n

Jo Berry said one of the group’s main aims was to make it easier for people to organise weddings in the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

Another was to stop locals leaving the area to hold their weddings because they couldn’t access the one-stop-shop services available in some bigger regional centres.<\/p>\n

And a third aim was to encourage outside couples in search of a true country wedding to hold their nuptials in the region.<\/p>\n

New members are welcome, and they can phone Jo for more details on 0414-230-128.<\/p>\n

The group’s Wedding And Formal Week mini-expo will feature more than 20 suppliers, and will be held at Kingaroy Shoppingworld from Wednesday to Sunday, April 26-29<\/p>\n
