LNP Member for Maranoa David Littleproud has accused One Nation Senator Pauline Hanson of “holding the region’s economy to ransom”.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are more than 25,500 small businesses in Maranoa and livelihoods \u2013 connected to this important sector in our rural communities \u2013 are being held ransom as One Nation threatens to withhold voting on crucial tax cuts unless a Queensland sugar industry code of conduct is passed,\u201d Mr Littleproud said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether you\u2019re employed by or own a small business in our community, Senator Hanson is playing politics with your future by pitting Queenslander against Queenslander.<\/p>\n

“She is trying to tangle separate issues together and, as a result, is jeopardising Maranoa\u2019s small business sector.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne Nation needs a wake-up call so please, pick up the phone or email Senator Hanson to remind her that she\u2019s senator for the entire Queensland State.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“The small business sector is the engine room of our economy in Maranoa and it\u2019s too important to be used as a political bargaining chip.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Littleproud said this was not the first time Queensland\u2019s economy had been used as a pawn by Senator Hanson.<\/p>\n

During her party\u2019s campaign during the recent West Australian elections, Senator Hanson said she would be willing to see Queensland\u2019s GST share reduced so that WA could get a better deal.<\/p>\n
