If you rang Triple 0, would an ambulance be able to find your property quickly?<\/p>\n

The Murgon Local Ambulance Committee is trying to raise awareness of this problem by promoting the Queensland Ambulance Service’s “Rural Emergency Mapping Information” project.<\/p>\n

LAC secretary Kerry Baldwin said every second counted during an emergency.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the route to a rural property that is suggested by GPS devices may not actually be the most direct – or quickest – way.<\/p>\n

The Murgon LAC is distributing Rural Emergency Mapping Information (REMI) forms that it suggests all property owners or managers should fill in.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The information on these forms will ensure local and relieving paramedics will have access to the latest and most accurate information to assist them to locate a property.<\/p>\n

As on-farm emergencies can occur at a considerable distance from the main house, there is a spot on the form where property owners can attach a simple property plan or an extract from Google Earth.<\/p>\n

The completed forms can be returned to South Burnett Regional Council customer service centres or mailed to Murgon LAC, PO Box 440, Murgon, 4605.<\/p>\n
