A former South Burnett resident who was killed in a tragic workplace accident almost \u00a050 years ago has been remembered in song by his granddaughter and her friends.<\/p>\n

The Brisbane trio, Midnight Daisy, released “To Remember Him” on March 7, what would have been Maxwell Fox’s 76th birthday.<\/p>\n

In 1964, Max and his wife, Lesley, moved to Proston where they lived and worked for two years.<\/strong><\/p>\n

From Proston, the couple moved to Maryborough where in December 1969, Max fell to his death after receiving an electric shock while working on power lines for the Wide Bay-Burnett Electricity Board.<\/p>\n

Max’s granddaughter Zoe Fox, 21, lead singer of Midnight Daisy, said she was inspired to write a song dedicated to Max in order to share his story.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough I was never able to meet my grandfather, as my father was only 14 months old when he died, the stories and photos I\u2019ve encountered tell a story of a country larrikin, loved by all,\u201d Zoe said.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany can relate to a life lost too young, and now as Max\u2019s heart-breaking story is heard and shared, his cheeky, cheerful memory can live on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Featured in the film clip for the song is Max’s banjo mandolin, which he had been learning to play at the time of his death.<\/p>\n

Joining Zoe in\u00a0Midnight Daisy\u00a0are Amy Moore and Sophie Cooke.<\/p>\n
