Kingaroy Police will have extra officers rostered on for Saturday’s Wine and Food in the Park Festival in Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

Acting Senior Sergeant Brad Johannesen warned festival-goers that the Kingaroy CBD would be policed heavily after the event.<\/p>\n

“The event is usually all right but it is after the event where we have most of our problems,” he said.<\/p>\n

As usual, event organisers will have security guards at Memorial Park, and police will be patrolling the grounds.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A driver was taken to Kingaroy Hospital with minor injuries after a nose-to-tail pile-up on the Bunya Highway, near Kingaroy, last week.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Acting Snr Sgt Johannesen said police believe one vehicle in a row of traffic had to stopped to make a turn.<\/p>\n

A vehicle further down allegedly failed to stop in time and crashed into the rear of the line of traffic.<\/p>\n

The driver of this vehicle was issued with a traffic infringement notice for travelling too close to the vehicle ahead.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred just after 2:00pm on March 1.<\/p>\n

* * *<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Two drivers will be facing court after Kingaroy Police stopped them for breath-tests recently.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A 26-year-old man was pulled over about 5:00pm on February 27 in Belle Street, Kingaroy. He allegedly recorded a BAC of .023 while on a learner’s permit, which has a zero maximum.<\/p>\n

He is due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on March 20.<\/p>\n

The second driver, a 69-year-old man, allegedly blew .061 when he was stopped in Baron Street, Kingaroy, on Sunday.<\/p>\n

He will appear in court on April 3.<\/p>\n

A 19-year-old man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on April 3 to face a charge of possessing cannabis.<\/strong><\/p>\n
