{"id":1710,"date":"2012-04-26T23:31:58","date_gmt":"2012-04-26T13:31:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/?p=1710"},"modified":"2019-01-23T19:11:34","modified_gmt":"2019-01-23T09:11:34","slug":"man-jailed-for-fuel-drive-offs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southburnett.com.au\/news2\/2012\/04\/26\/man-jailed-for-fuel-drive-offs\/","title":{"rendered":"Man Jailed For Fuel Drive-Offs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>April 26, 2012<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A man pleaded guilty in Kingaroy Magistrates&#8217; Court today to a total of 30 offences, all committed since he was released from jail on January 27 this year.<\/p>\n<p>Wayne Brett Yeomans, 27, was charged with 11 counts of driving while disqualified, nine counts of stealing, eight of using a false number plate, one of wilful damage and one of failing to stop.<\/p>\n<p>Eight of the theft offences related to fuel &#8220;drive-offs&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Police Prosecutor Sgt Nick Nitschke said Yeomans had shown no remorse for the offences and a disregard for the laws of the land.<\/p>\n<p>He said he had been in and out of custody since 2003.<\/p>\n<p>Magistrate W.A. Cridland said the offences were not opportunistic but rather showed a degree of criminality.<\/p>\n<p>He said Yeomans had stopped and changed his number plates before entering petrol stations with the one intention &#8230; to steal petrol.<\/p>\n<p>Yeomans was convicted and sentenced to 12 months&#8217; imprisonment and also placed on a three-year probation order to date from today.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A man pleaded guilty in Kingaroy Magistrates Court today to a total of 30 offences, all committed since he was released from jail on January 27 this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":104807,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[3,24],"tags":[155],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.11 -
