This year’s Wine & Food In The Park will have an all-local music line-up … but it will still feature street performers and stilt walkers, which have become a popular signature of the event<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This year’s Wine & Food In The Park Festival will be offering an “all local” music line-up for the first time in its 18-year history.<\/p>\n

The move is a departure from the Festival’s usual practice of showcasing two or three “imported” bands from Brisbane or the coast in the day’s line-up … but organisers are confident it will be a hit.<\/p>\n

“We know from surveys that more than half the people who come to Wine & Food In The Park don’t live in the South Burnett,” festival committee president Chrys McDuffie said.<\/p>\n

“We also know we have some very, very talented musicians in our region.<\/p>\n

“So for more than half the audience, it will be our own region’s performers who’ll be the “imports” this year … and for locals, it will be a great chance to see a huge line-up of top acts they may only see rarely.”<\/p>\n

Another reason for the decision to go local was to expand the festival beyond just showcasing the region’s wines to showcasing its performing artists as well.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We’re doing a lot of new things this year, and we all thought this was something good we could do for local artists – expose them to a wider audience that might not otherwise get to enjoy the great work they do.”<\/p>\n

Some parts of the entertainment line-up will not change, however.<\/p>\n

Street performers – who have become a signature of the festival – will still be stilt-walking and performing other wondrous feats in the grounds between 1:00pm and 5:30pm.<\/p>\n

And a range of amusement rides will be operating near the festival’s main grounds so parents can keep children happily amused while they enjoy the event.<\/p>\n
