Accommodation in Kingaroy could be in short supply in a fortnight, if only briefly.<\/p>\n

The South Burnett will be hosting the RACQ Southern Queensland Tourism Industry Conference at Kingaroy Town Hall on February 21-22.<\/p>\n

It will be the first time in the conference’s 12-year history the event has been held in the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

Delegates will be attending from all over Southern Queensland Country Tourism’s (SQCT) coverage area, which stretches from west of St George to Goondiwindi, Stanthorpe, Dalby, Chinchilla and the South Burnett.<\/p>\n

Some delegates are expected to attend from other parts of Queensland, too.<\/p>\n

The conference program will offer guest speakers, practical training and networking opportunities for tourism industry operators, and it will have a particular focus on digital tourism and story telling.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

The keynote speaker, Fred Sarkari, is a licensed psychotherapist and best-selling author who provides management consulting services to a wide range of organisations, and has authored several books.<\/p>\n

Other speakers include actor, broadcaster and media professional Lisa-Jane Stockwell from Trinity Lane Communications; television producer Chris Parsons who has worked on Queensland Weekender, The Great South East and Creek to Coast; and Liz Ward, who has more than 20 years experience specialising in IT for the travel and tourism industries.<\/p>\n

Dr Jane Summers from the University of Southern Queensland, Glen Davis from Tourism Australia and Chris Chambers and David Morgans from Tourism and Events Queensland will also be making presentations.<\/p>\n

Registration for the conference is $460 and there is a 10 per cent discount for SQCT partners.<\/p>\n
