The Wondai Regional Art Gallery will be hosting a free workshop for children aged from 6 to 11 on Sunday, March 19.<\/p>\n

The workshop is being brought to the South Burnett by the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) at Southbank in Brisbane, thanks to the Wondai Gallery’s special status as a GOMA touring venue.<\/p>\n

“The Gabori Sisters: Gathering by the Sea on Tour” will introduce youngsters to Kaiadilt artists, Elsie, Dorothy and Amanada Gabori, and their homeland of Bentinck Island in Queensland’s Gulf of Carpentaria.<\/p>\n

Through specially designed, hands-on making and multimedia activities, children will be invited to consider the unique and important relationship the Kaiadilt people share with the sea.<\/p>\n

They’ll also be able to discover the creatures that inhabit the waters around Bentinck Island.<\/p>\n

The workshop will be held in “The Studio” at the Gallery and will run from 9:30am to 12:30pm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

All materials and equipment will be provided, and parents are encouraged to attend.<\/p>\n

A free morning tea will also be provided.<\/p>\n

However places at the workshop are limited so bookings are essential.<\/p>\n
