Year 12 student Jared Gossow got into the spirit of things at St Mary’s Catholic College P&F Family Fun Day in Kingaroy on Saturday afternoon<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

February 6, 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Family Fun Day organised by St Mary’s Catholic College P&F drew a crowd of about 400 people to the college’s grounds on Saturday afternoon, despite the heat.<\/p>\n

A big attraction for a lot of young children – and even some older ones – were water games on the lawns, carried out with water pistols, and occasionally hoses and buckets.<\/p>\n

Others queued for a turn at Splatt Attack, trying to hit one another with wet sponges shot from high-powered air cannons.<\/p>\n

Others took advantage of face painting to get made up.<\/p>\n

And in the Maryknoll Centre, a large jumping castle also drew a steady stream of youngsters.<\/p>\n

Outside, as the afternoon wore on, many parents and their children took part in a treasure hunt, before chowing down on a sausage sizzle accompanied by a cool soft drink.<\/p>\n

The event was partially organised as a “get to know you” gathering for parents, but its main intention was to provide an inexpensive afternoon of family fun before the term’s hard work really gets underway.<\/p>\n

Proceeds of the day will be used by the P&F for school improvements.<\/p>\n
