Former Cherbourg resident Shaleise Law was presented with her official Brisbane Lions playing jumper at the launch of the inaugural Women’s AFL season on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Shaleise played for the Lions during the AFL’s special 10-match Exhibition Series in 2016 which was organised as a lead-up to the full women\u2019s competition this year.<\/p>\n

At the draft, Shaleise was described by the Lions as \u201csmall, lightning fast, has defensive pressure and kicks freak goals\u201d.<\/p>\n

The inaugural women\u2019s competition will be made up of eight teams: four from Victoria and one each from Queensland, NSW, South Australia and Western Australia.<\/p>\n

The Lions notched up their first win for 2017 against GWS Giants at Coorparoo in a practise game played in the rain.<\/p>\n

The season proper will kick off this Friday and run for just seven weeks.<\/strong><\/p>\n
