January 27, 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

A man aged in his 20s was airlifted to hospital on Friday afternoon after being cut free from his wrecked car near Cooyar.<\/p>\n

Police said the driver suffered facial lacerations in the crash which happened about 11:00am on the New England Highway, two kilometres south of the Oakey turn-off.<\/p>\n

The vehicle left the road and rolled several times down an embankment.<\/p>\n

There were no other occupants in the vehicle.<\/p>\n

The highway was closed while emergency crews to worked to free the driver and\u00a0to allow the RACQ LifeFlight helicopter to land nearby.<\/p>\n

The driver was transported to the Toowoomba Base Hospital in a stable condition.<\/p>\n
