Nominations are closing soon for Southern Queensland Country Tourism\u2019s annual Chairman\u2019s Award.<\/p>\n

The tourism excellence award is open to SQCT members who can win $1200 for mentoring, professional development or business marketing activities.<\/p>\n

SQCT CEO Mary-Clare Power said tourism operators could nominate individuals, businesses or volunteers who “strove for tourism excellence in the region”.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe award recognises the leaders in our industry who do outstanding work \u2013 they\u2019re the innovators who embody the Southern Queensland Country brand, lift the visitor experience beyond expectations and actively support the growth and development of tourism at a local and regional level,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

SQCT chairman Dr Jane Summers said the award winner would be a role model for other operators.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re seeking to recognise someone who provides a brilliant experience for guests and who is always learning and interacting with fellow tourism operators and us, the regional tourism organisation,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Nomination forms can be downloaded from the SQCT website<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Nominations will be accepted until 5:00pm on Friday, January 27, and the winner and runners-up will be announced at the Southern Queensland Tourism Industry Conference which will be held in Kingaroy on Tuesday, February 21.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
