Moreton Resources has appointed a project manager to direct the development of its proposed coal mine on the outskirts of Kingaroy.<\/p>\n

The Board announced on Wednesday that\u00a0Pete Jones had been appointed by Moreton subsidiary MRV Tarong Basin Coal Pty Ltd.<\/p>\n

“As the market is aware, the project is advancing at a steady rate,” Moreton Executive chairman Jason Elks told the ASX.<\/p>\n

“Following the release of the Final Terms of Reference for this project in late December 2016, we now move into the EIS process, whilst running in parallel multiple technical and advancement studies.<\/p>\n

“This is seen as another significant step ahead for this project, coupled in the last six months with a steep increase in global thermal coal pricing, which in turn underpins the financial estimates and fundamentals of this project.<\/p>\n

“The company\u2019s agenda is to have the EIS completed and submitted well within the 18-month timeframe which began effectively upon January 1, 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Mr Jones is a well-credentialled and experienced environmental scientist and permitting manager.<\/p>\n

“He has led similarly large-scaled coal mine development projects in Queensland since 2010, securing State and Federal permits.<\/p>\n

“Previously he was Approvals Manager at Bandanna Energy and has also fulfilled in-house permitting roles with Shandong Energy and APA Group.<\/p>\n

“He has a strong history of consulting prior to these roles having worked upon major projects with GHD in Australia, DHI out of Singapore, and Arup based in London.<\/p>\n

“He has been consulting to Moreton Resources Limited over the last six months.<\/p>\n

“His key priorities will be:<\/strong><\/p>\n
